The Vineyard Mosaic of Kana Winery
The Kana Winery draws from a diverse mosaic of vineyards—Shifon, Plateau, Ben Zimra, and Elkosh—each offering a distinctive terroir. With varied altitudes, diverse soils (basalt, limestone, clay), and a cool microclimate with cold nights, these vineyards yield complex, concentrated, and highly aromatic grapes. Together, they form the foundation for Kana’s refined, balanced, and deeply expressive blends- the hallmark of its flagship wines.
The Vineyards

Shifon Vineyard
Situated on the northern slopes of the Golan Heights at approximately 850 meters above sea level, Shifon Vineyard grows in well-drained basaltic soil under a relatively cool climate. It is planted with red varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah. The grapes develop with rich structure and fresh acidity—ideal for producing layered, age-worthy wines.

From Vine To Wine
Plateau Vineyard
Located in the heart of the Dalton Plateau at an altitude of around 870 meters, this vineyard sits on a flat volcanic plain characterized by a dry and cool climate. It is predominantly planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. These conditions support slow, even ripening, producing concentrated wines with deep color and precise tannic structure.

From Vine To Wine

Ben Zimra Vineyard
Nestled north of Safed at an elevation of 780 meters, Ben Zimra features gentle topography and clay-limestone soils. The vineyard benefits from steady winds and low nighttime temperatures. Varieties such as Shiraz, Grenache, and Cabernet Franc thrive here, resulting in wines that balance ripe fruit with freshness and vibrancy.
Elkosh Vineyard
Elkosh Vineyard spans the western slopes of the Upper Galilee at about 750 meters above sea level. With shallow, rocky soil and exposure to cooling maritime winds, this site is planted with Mediterranean varieties including Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Carignan. The grapes exhibit intense concentration, refined aromatic complexity, and subtle minerality.
